Western Flyer Plastic
I need help with a vintage bike. Where I can find information about this bike with the serial number?
I have a 60 or bicycle Murray western traveler with a light bezzle with Ben Hur painted on the front. The metal is bezzle off the plastic bezzle bikes Murray in time. Need know a place online where you can learn on the bike with your serial number. The number is 455 222 24X56 MOT. I have no idea what I can do with this, but I've been looking for information for about a year hland have come to nothing. The bike is original and all parties are on the bike. (It is not for sale if Anybodys request) Please your help.
I do not agree with the previous answer, as there are a number of the collection of bicycles Murray. That theirs is said, is not one of them. His is not vintage, just old … There is a difference. MOT means Murray Ohio Tennessee, 24X56 refers to a "special form" – a bike made for a retailer specific (I'm pretty sure it was "Joe's friend motorists' chain of auto parts stores, long out of business), and 455222 are refers to the part number Murray. All light bezels Murray until about 1965 were metal, and then went to plastic. There were a few models with bevels previous celluloid , But not many. If a model for man in perfect condition with working light and no finish or other defects, the bike may be worth $ 80 – $ 150 for the buyer appropriate. If a woman's bicycle, then it is almost useless.

Lone Star was the name used by the British company Die Cast Machine Tools Ltd. (DCMT) for its toy products.
Since 1949, the company manufactured cast iron toys for children. The name of the "Lone Star" was chosen due to high demand in time for toy guns and rifles forced by Western films in cinemas across Britain. The company also made in the tie-licensed toy guns from the James Bond and The Man from UNCLE series.
Other early models include a large number of painted toy soldiers hand and figures, mostly military, with some figures of cowboy and Native Americans. Other figures were obtained by license and including children's series Noddy, Popeye and El Zorro. Initially, the soldiers were made in hollow cast lead, but later switched to plastic.
Began producing Lone Star toy cars in 1960 a rapidly expanding range of cast metal cars with names like "Lone Star" Flyers "and the superb range of OO scale (1/76th) Lone Star Impy vehicles. They followed the example set by Dinky Toys and moved to miniature model aircraft in 1959 with the 2-2-0 series of modern jet liners in 1/220th scale.
In the "Lone Star Locos" name, produced (at OOO) 2 mm to the contour of the foot British and American advance along the model trains at 1957.9 mm gauge and a series of miniatures station buildings. This was followed in 1960 by "Treble-0-Lectric" electrically operated models of two British diesel locomotives, Class 24 Diesel Sulzer type 2 and type 2 Napier Class 23 "Baby Deltic" Diesel, an American 0-8-0 Baldwin steam locomotive and a General Motors Style FA Bo-Bo Diesel Electric loco that was available in the U.S. and UK liveries. This was accompanied by the track, British & Continental scheme rolling stock, scenic elements and other accessories, such as Gulliver range molded rubber Kingdom of buildings in 2mm scale. Vacuum-formed the bases were available on an "immediate" designs stage and these could be purchased separately or in sets.
The electric train models were very well received in the press of model train of the day and essentially showed a 2mm foot viable system could be designed, manufactured and marketed in the United Kingdom. Lone Star Treble-O-Lectric trains introduced essentially the concept that later became in English "N" gauge 10 years ahead of the competition.
However, limited toy commercial distribution the existence of the Tri-ang TT range scale and the unreliability of the mechanisms driving (using the final drive of a pair of rubber bands) said they would never Sharp-o-Lectric sold enough to recoup the investment. In 1964 production ceased, but the trains pushing along a continuation of the much more time, using existing tools. The accessories were changed from cast metal injection Molded Polyethylene at this time and all units were sold in blister packs. The departure of British Prime Minister was the High Street retailer Woolworths. unsold stocks, was finally acquitted of the Hatfield store in 1988, securing a lease of life completely different to the system of new collectors have become interested in the Lone Star.
Today Lone Star there is a thriving collectors who regularly circle can be seen to fully sample model railway layouts work using only Lone Star teams throughout the United Kingdom and occasionally in Europe and Canada.
In 2009, Lone Star are cap guns once more widely available, as the name and the original logo is being used by a German manufacturer with a good distribution across Europe.
