Tent Toy Camping

8 Man Tent? But I Have A Family Of 6?
An 8 man tent, you ask. When I have a family of 6, why would I need an 8 man tent? The answer is a simple one. Space. This can make a big difference to any family camping holiday.
Children squabble. It’s a fact of life. Brothers and sisters fight like cat and dog. And this doesn’t change as they grow older, either. Only the reasons gradually change with age. What once was a battle over a toy or where they want to sleep, now turns into a fight for space and privacy. Okay, so unless your tent has six separate bedrooms, you can’t really do much about the privacy issue. But the space issue – this is something that can easily be resolved.
How? By buying a bigger tent.
Manufacturers categorise their tents by berth – 2 berth, 4 berth, 6 berth etc. This tells the buyer how big to expect their tent to be and how many people can sleep in it. This doesn’t, however, take into consideration the amount of luggage or camping equipment you have. Take a 2 man tent for example. These tents are designed to allow two people to sleep side by side quite comfortably. But they don’t consider luggage. Luckily, two people camping won’t have that much luggage, but it is still something that is going to take up valuable space in their little tent. And depending how long they intend to stay out can naturally have an affect on how much luggage there is.
A family or a group of six will undoubtedly have a lot of luggage, and that amount will increase depending on the length of their stay. To squeeze everything into a 6 man tent can sometimes be a tight squeeze, and if children are involved it can lead to fight after fight. For people to live together in such a tight proximity can be frustrating. Every time you turn around, someone is there. Toes are going to be stepped on and personal space is going to be invaded. For most teenagers, the latter is a huge no-no. They want their space.
Buy opting for an 8 man tent, you’re giving yourself that extra space that can ease the frustration that everyone would feel. No one like’s feeling cramped, and this can solve it. You have more room to live and to breath, your tent won’t be so cluttered with luggage, and no one will be living off anyone’s lap. Your Children will have their space, and this in turn will create a happier environment. Your camping trip has just turned from the holiday from hell, to a luxurious stay out the country – or wherever you decide to go camping.
And this isn’t just advice given to families or groups of six. Even a family of five can benefit from camping in an 8 man tent, or a family of seven. Even a family of 8 can be happy in an 8 man tent – although they may want to consider something bigger. Do you see the pattern forming?
