Tent Beach Tent

I need some advice for shop / beach camping with a dog and a child in northern Oregon.?

Going to the Oregon Coast this weekend for some camping. Can anybody recommend some good camping spots – beach accessible? There will be camping with her boyfriend, the dog and child. Thanks!

There are some great campgrounds in Seaside. That is a great place to go camping, because there is a promenade with games and rides. We went camping there three years ago and had the Time of our lives. Unfortunately, I do not remember the name of the camp, but found it on Recreation.gov. It was within one or two miles of ocean. Definitely the place to go in the area of the North Coast. Jump on Lincoln City-excited and the only thing is the outlet malls. Newport would be another great place to go, but I have only stayed in a hotel. It is my favorite place to go to the coast, but is about 3 hours south of the coast. You can access the beach, is the Oregon Coast Aquarium, the Hatfield Marine Science Aquarium, Nye Beach, the front area of the Bay that has the Wax Works Museum, The Gardens submarine, and Ripley's Believe it or not. I've never been there, but there is a horse ride Tillamook OHV area known as Sand Lake. This is probably your best bet for beach camping. Few camps are right on the beach in Oregon but those who tend to be private, members only sites or in the Dunes Recreation Area in Lane and Douglas County. Good luck and have fun.

How Tents Are Evolving

When you think of a tent, what is the first image that you get? A quiet serene setting in the woods by a lake on a camping trip with friends? That is what millions of people think of when it comes to tents. It is the perception that millions of people have. However, these days, tents are used for many other functions other then camping.

Believe it or not, tents have come a long way since their first use hundreds of years ago.

In the past, tents were often big and bulky and very awkward to carry. They were cumbersome and that deterred people from really enjoying the hike to the campsite.

Over the years, tents have been redesigned many times. New materials were used to make them lightweight and easy to carry; metal tent poles were replaced by nearly unbreakable plastic, and the tent itself is now made of water resistant materials keeping the occupants warm and dry.

Tents are now used for many different functions. They still serve as the best protection when camping in the woods; however, consumers have found creative uses for them other than camping.

Family functions and other outdoor events have always been held outdoors in the warmer seasons. The problem with this is that those who could not tolerate too much sun would often end up leaving early or be faced with sun-damaged skin.

Huge open sided tents were used to combat this problem while providing a shaded area for those who would suffer the most from the effects of the sun. It was an ingenious idea. The tents could be set up just about anywhere. Back yards, in the woods, and even on the beach allowing everyone to enjoy whatever function they were attending. Tents are also used at outdoor events such as flea markets and barbeques.

Today, one of the greatest benefits is that these tents come in a variety of sizes. You can find one that holds two or two hundred.

A big problem that may consumers had been setting up the tent. You would have to literally put it together like a puzzle. The poles and the tent were challenging enough, however when it came to staking the tent, often times, the whole thing would just fall apart.

With the evolution of tents, this is no longer a problem. Tents have become a staple for anyone who travels. Even those who are technically challenged are able to set up a tent in mere minutes.

Indeed, tents have come a long way since the first ones hundred of years ago were blankets hung on brush to protect the inhabitants from inclement weather. Today, there are even tents that do not require staking of any kind and for a shaded area, consumers are able to set up a tent by attaching it to their car using magnets and weighted feet to keep them secure. These types of tents are great for those who take day trips or also RV owners who travel extensively.
