How I can avoid the swallows away after nesting season is over?
We just moved from New York to Delaware and then a week living here was about 3 barn swallows in our backyard. nobody but much of it until a swop and almost hit my sister four years when she was playing in his swing. now know we can not get rid of them, as it lays eggs and are protected by law, but after the nesting season is over and go, how can we keep it to not come back? Is there some kind of spray that we put on our roof? (The nest is just below the stairwell is) and should also put some of this spray in my playground sisters? (Is like a Tree House with swing attact) thanks to everyone who resond Bothe and help the terrace and wooden theater are so this has no effect on what my mom could buy?
Exclusion of nesting sites of birds can be a long term preventive measure. Swallows can be excluded from potential nest sites with barriers made rom plastic sheeting, vinyl strips or a fine wire mesh. Nylon or wire mesh size should be 1.3 to 1.9 cm (0.5 to 0.75 inches) but 2.5 cm (1 inch) mesh is suitable. Nets or other barriers must be installed before the swallows arrive. After the exclusion of fact can be expensive, slow and inefficient. Barriers, nets and plastic sheeting can be unattractive if they are not installed correctly. To maintain decorum and effectively precluding the construction of swallows, ensure that all networks, the removal and plastic sheets are tight, neat and follow the contour and form of construction. This will also maximize the benefits of barrier materials and devices. Loose or improperly installed or networks of other material have flexible pockets or wrinkles that could trap or entangle birds, as well as trash and windblown debris. The type of barrier is used varies the form of construction and the size and degree of permanence required. Temporary barriers may be supported by the tape, garbage bag ties, tacks or staples. Methods more elaborate involvement of rust resistant picture hooks and cup hooks can support permanent barriers. Hooks can also be used for temporary barriers. Plugs wooden slats and metal rods can be used to support networking. They can be attached by hooks or nailed directly to building surfaces, a tool power can be used to support net nails or screws to the concrete or cement.:)
