Mazda Zoom, Zoom, Zooms…

The “zoom, zoom, zoom” commercial of Mazda may not be liked by most viewers but it has effectively defined the performance style, the corporate philosophy —in short the heart and soul of Mazda style, engineering, and design.

Mazda is undeniably one of the best car makers there is. They simply can’t seem to build an ugly or a boring car. Every vehicle that they built is like a masterpiece. If you are not convinced just try to check their lineup of vehicles: Mazda 6 stylish in whatever configuration may it in the form of a wagon, hatchback, or sedan; the MX-5 Miata which is always evolving and ever playful; the Mazda 5 which is practical and stylish; and of course who would ever forget the charm of the CX-7 and CX-9 that has recently made their debuts and are currently the best good-looking crossovers in the market.

And speaking of MX-5, the Mazda ‘zoom-zoom’ commercial has added an extra edge on the MX-5 Roadster. The performance accessories that include a larger AEM air cold intake, a sport spring kit, sport exhaust, limited slip differential, Bilstein shocks and sport suspension—all were highlighted in the ad. The roadster was also outfitted with rear spoiler, front air dam, rear under and side sill extensions. The test drive conducted ion the add-ons has elicited comments such as ‘Fun’, ‘Funner’, and ‘Whoa, baby!’

In term of future products, Mazda has also lots to offer. Its future products are influenced by design studies such as the Nagare, the Hakaze, and the Ryuuga concepts are so damn compelling that they left their audiences speechless.

The main message that Mazda wants to convey on its zoom-zoom commercial pertains mainly to its distinctive designing, functionality, as well as its handling and driving performance. And for Mazda, the Mazdaspeed division is the very essence of that spirit.

Mazdaspeed was formed in the year 1983 to function as the performance wing of the company. Then in 1991 a Mazdaspeed entry has given Mazda the first and only overall Le Mans victory by a Japanese automaker. The following year, the FIA changed the rules and then disqualified rotary engines.

Then came 1993, this is the year that Mazdaspeed have started turning its attention to aftermarket accessories and by 2002 they began producing special edition performance parts for their existing models. And just recently Mazda has invited the Canadian automotive journalists to the Dunnville Autodrome to further discover the performance edge of Mazdaspeed models and accessories.

My 1 week old daughter has a cold and is really congested, what should I do?

We brought our daughter home last Wednesday and everything was fine. My wife took her out to the store yesterday and by the time we went to bed last night my daughter developed a cold. Her nose is not runny but she is really congested. You can hear the congestion through the mouth and nose. She does not have a fever and does sleep but with the noise of congestion. She drinks her bottle and has normal bowels. Last night we put on a humidifier and it worked for a while but her congestion sparked again. It’s horrible to hear my tiny baby sound like a roadster. I’m afraid to go to sleep because I think she may choke or maybe even have problems breathing. I guess m issue maybe that she is very uncomfortable and want her to feel better. Am I overly concerned or cautious? Does anyone have any suggestions to help her feel better?

Take her to the doctor – she is too young to take chances. We used to put a decongestant on her night clothes – maybe try Vick or you can get specialised childrens ones
