Ride Kids
Parents, have you ever had your kids on a long journey by train?
My husband and I are thinking about our 4 Year Old and 10 months of age a six-hour train ride instead of driving or flying. Anyone traveling by train with children? If so, how was it?
We used travel a lot with our daughter when she was a baby to visit family and did not have a car. In general, it was very good, and we were able to take care of it better to say that if we had been in a car. We take a bassinet with us when he was under age 3mths, then let him sleep in our lap when he was older. The trip longer train was on an overnight train I did with just my daughter – I do not recommend that by not sleeping well at all and therefore both were very cranky all the next day. With 4yr old and a 10mth old, I think you should do OK. Of course bring so many different activities as possible for your child under 4 years of age to no / entertaining, but his 10mth old should be easy. Hopefully that will give you a seat for 10mth old (free of course) so you have enough space for a bag or two at your side to facilitate access to games, diapers, etc.
