It is my variable speed fan is working properly?
We have a mixed system with a heat pump. The only time the fan comes on when the temperature drops enough to trigger the thermostat. Then go to the aid. heat after a minute and maintained at aux. mode until the temperature is reached. Is not the heat pump is supposed to work almost continuously? The only time I feel the air, hot or cold, coming from the chimneys is when the thermostat starts fan on. This works the same for heat or a / c. It was installed correctly?
The heat pump must always be implemented if the heat source simply does not help. heat. The heat pump is the cheapest to operate is the first stage of heating. If the set point is greater than 3 degrees auxiliary heat should step up and help recover the temperature and usually fall back as within 2 degrees of set point statistics. If your heat pump is not running make sure your statistics are not in emergency mode. this will only work the aux heat. If the heat mode and the unit is running hot side feel the copper pipe in the larger unit should be hot. if you have a problem. and the need to call for service.
