What makes a fun Christmas party?
I notice most of the Christmas holidays are boring. What do you remember most about your favorite Christmas party? In his view, what makes a fun party?
My mom made a couple of Christmas when I was a child. We were not rich (for U.S. citizens) but spent weeks preparing for this event. She decorated the Christmas tree and a living room with blue and green. Blue and green lights, table linen blue and green, blue and green … whatever, it was blue and green. My mother made most of the food itself – except for sweets. There was a bakery and really great to go do not worry about cooking. My sister and I were allowed to come for about ten minutes in our PJs very early in the afternoon to greet and get a plate of food from parties. Then transported back to my parents room where watching TV (this is before the days of VCR / DVD / cable!). Oh, movies rare to be on. One year it was a movie called angel in my pocket or the angel on my shoulder, about a boy named Mario, and their two children stay with he and his wife and they live in a hotel in New York with murals merely suggestive of the Garden of Eden. One more year, was a man for all seasons, I was a little confused even for a child of the Catholic school and had not learned much about hist0ry at that point. Anyway, they had good food and great drink. The house was decorated in a way that was totally cool. Even now, thirty years later, I think people would enjoy the way my mom was all green and blue lights in the tree and the windows. So, I gues I would say that the atmosphere goes a long way. Interestting invite people they do not all know each other. Have good food and lots of it. Lots to drink and if you smoke w # # d, then a lot of that too. Good Christmas music doesn, t hurt, and other good music. Be sure to hang mistletoe. And I'm …. Fuun have passed, no matter what … PS Karla, I come to your Christmas party PJ!
