Steps to fix scratches on my car?
Hi all, I own a Lincoln Town Car 2005. Recently, someone ran its peak in one of the panels of the door to me and now it is deep sratches. I bought a kit for fixing scratches. It came with epoxy that is used to fill scratches. However, the sandpaper is included in the kit put scratches on my car when I try to wet sand the epoxy hardened to its correct level. Am I doing the sanding process Wet wrong? If you need finer sandpaper, it is recommended that sand? Besides, what measures should be taken after the epoxy is sanded? The touch pen included in the kit is too small to paint such large areas. I will buy the spray pattern. What precautions should I take with this? Can someone please pull as much information as you can to help me? Thanks in advance
After following the instructions on the package that ends with a twilight zone in he had to sand down. That's normal. The trick is to finish with wet sand paper and better use of water (2500 grain should be sufficient.) After that you have dry surface, and then use a rubbing compound to level the sand surface. This will expose a fresh coat of paint that still needs a coat of wax. good luck, rubbing compound can come at any automotive store.
