Keeping That Bounce In Your Trampoline

Springs are an important and integral part to the trampoline.  Whether it is square, round, rectangular, or oval, spring based trampolines give the best quality bounce.  Long Trampoline Springs give a strong but soft bounce.  You can definately notice the difference from jumping on a 5.5″ spring trampoline and an 8.5″ spring trampoline.  But dont have spring envy, although you get a smoother bounce, the height of the jump should not change too much as long as the user is operating the trampoline normally.

It may sound like a great and grand idea to jump 10 ft in the air, but think about that for a minute.

That is about the same height as a garage door that  a person on Youtube will jump off of and break a bone.  But a consumer trampoline is still just as much fun.

To make sure that the user is safe, keep in mind to check your trampoline springs for any that are worn or stretched out.  Having worn out springs may create an uneven launch, sending the user in the air at an angle.  This is potentially dangerous and should be remedied before use.

If you notice that your trampoline is missing or has worn out springs, discontinue use and plan on purchasing replacements before further use.

When purchasing a spring remove any unworn or non stretched spring and measure the spring from hook end to hook end.  Note the measurement in inches.  If you order in bulk quantity, a discount usually applies.  Take advantage of this to have springs handy in case of maintenance needs.

Having fresh springs will always increase the quality of the jump and overal trampoline experience.  You will jump high and feel free as you soar and bounce.  And as a parent or adult you can rest a little easier knowing that the trampoline is operating as intended to ensure maximum safety

If you are looking to buy a trampoline, take into consideration trampolines that use long springs.  The longest spring in the market for consumer Round Trampoline measures at 8.5″ and are not uncommon.

These large springs require extra wide pads, and offer a luxurious trampoline experience.

While you are inspecting for bad trampoline springs, take the time to inspect the rest of the trampoline parts.  They easiest check it to look at the metal ring on the mat that the spring hooks to.  This should still be sturdy and firmly attached to the mat.   Also, inspect the Trampoline Safety pad for wear and tear.  If you find it unsuitable to protect the jumper when landing on the springs and frame, then discard the old pad and look to order a new one.

Maintaining a good trampoline is the key to continued fun and safe use.  Treat your trampoline with care by taking care of its parts and see how much more use and enjoyment you, your family, and your friends will receive!
