Need ideas for a benefit/ fund raiser. No bake sells- think outside the box!!?
I just recently opened a stable & farm market at my home. I have a pretty nice place so I had the idea if I could get a BIG name charity to do a fund raiser at my farm I could draw a big crowd and get noticed by a lot of people at once. So I contacted March of Dimes because I really support their work. They have seen pictures of my place and are interested in doing a fudnraiser here. We have a meeting Monday to discuss some ideas. So I need some great ideas to sell them on this!! I was thinking about having a festival type event here, since I have a lot of land. Get some local bands to play throughout the day (for free just to get their name out!) get some local places to donate some Large Inflatable play equipment for the day, do hayrides, etc. What do you think? Tell me what you think about my ideas and give me yours!
You’ll want to think about food accommodations too. Contact some local businesses to assess their interest in maybe having a booth. Publicity for them as well. Nearby wineries and smaller locally owned restaurants tend to enjoy this type of thing. Since its a farm I’d make the festival event something like a country fair or perhaps BBQ/cookout theme. The other main concern for March of Dimes is how will they be able to raise as much money as possible. Paying to attend is just one facet- consider other ways to raise funds. Perhaps the local businesses could have country fair booths and people use tickets to try their stuff thus voting for the best. You could give out Blue Ribbons and plaques to the winners to fit the theme and they will display the plaques in their businesses so make sure the name of your farm is on there as well as March of Dimes. You could create a mock-up for the meeting with March of Dimes. Try to have some visual ideas to present to them- people respond to these More effectively.

Children relish playing with the inflatable games. How do you know whether children have really been thrilled by the fun and games that you have arranged at the special event?
