Ford Mustang Pedal
MUSTANG MAKE NOISE clutch pedal?
So I have a 2000 Ford Mustang GT I replace the clutch ABOUT 1000 MILES AGO but somehow pedal FUNNY clutch makes a noise .. BUT when I press on the clutch the noise stops .. What could be.
There are some parts that could be causing this. Do not forget, the clutch is a part of various car parts. First, you have the clutch disc itself, then you have what is called a "pressure plate" forcing the clutch against the flywheel. Then there is a relationship, that slides over the input shaft of the transmission, and puts pressure on the fingers of the pressure plate, so it is releasing the clutch disc, when you press the clutch pedal while driving. A noise may be created if the release bearing is going bad. For replace it, they have to pull the transmission, as they did to replace the clutch. Not too expensive, but the installation is a labor intensive job. Also, if the clutch pedal linkage bearing touches the release, there must be some kind of plastic or nylon clips, which give the connection snug rolling. If one or both of them is missing, you could create excessive noise. If nothing else you can find the very connection of the clutch pedal to clutch could have a spring missing, or even be doubled. Get someone who knows what they are doing to see for yourself, if you can not do it yourself. Most times the noise itself is not a problem, but it could be a warning of coming trouble.
