What electric motor for my electric bicycle pedal?
Dear guys, I'm going to turn my bike in a bicycle pedal-power as a DIY work. I saw that there are a lot of engines: 350W 250W 500W 750W 1000W Can you suggest the best (couple or individual) batteries (Ah watt) to link with these engines?
You must first ask what kind of performance that is required of your vehicle and the type of budget you have to work. If you has lots of hills in the area of travel and / or may be a good packing of the cargo you may want to consider a more powerful engine. The same could be true if you want to go faster, but then you might consider a fairing to cut the wind resistance is a factor at higher speeds. For a more powerful engine you will need the higher capacity batteries for the same distance. Increased battery capacity will increase the distance you can travel. A powerful motor tends to empty battery water unnecessarily. You might also consider the weight of components, as there may be times when it is turn on the bike without the benefit of the engine.
