Disc Night
My mom computer crashed last night during a storm. How I can make a boot disk to try to restore?
The team plugged into a surge suppressor. I tried to turn the computer on / off several times, took me to a blank screen with a blinking dash in the upper left corner.
See if you can enter the BIOS setup utility. As soon as you press the power button, press the F1 key to see If this screen appears. No? Press CTRL + ALT + DELETE to reboot (restart) the computer (if this fails, just un-plug it in, wait 20 seconds or so, then connect it again.) Do this again, this time press the Delete key. If not, use the arrow keys to 'select' Advanced BIOS (or CMOS), the installation program, and when this window appears, scroll down to Order of startup, press the Enter key. Use Page Up / Page Down or arrow keys or the minus sign -, + keys to change the order in the boot order submenu (in the bottom of the window I to say 'ya, that by virtue of changing the values). Want to make the first Cdrom boot order, the record (if applicable), may be the next to the disc third-party hard. Press ESC until you return to the main starting point, press F10, and press the key and the YES. At this point, the recovery disk, (Or the boot disk performance, ie, Windows 98, WinXP, etc), must be put in its SOON CD-ROM / DVD! Boot your system this album now. Restore Settings registration system and unplug the power supply and Ethernet port on your 'computer during bad storms.
