I need to do a complete system restore to factory settings?
The problem is I have an upgraded version of Windows Vista which overwrote the original pre-installed XP on my Dell Inspirion E1705. Since I performed the upgrade my control F11 function no longer works to perform a system restore and there aren’t any options for system restore under F8 start either. How else can I perform a system restore to thefactory settings?
Take out your battery and unplug your computer. Leave out for a few seconds. Then put the battery back in and put in the charger. Turn on the computer and press the zero ’0′ key for about 30 seconds. It works for most computer manufacturers.
Edit: Make sure you press the zero key before turning the power on.
If that doesn’t work – look into getting Windows 7 if your computer can handle it (spec wise).
