What can cause bubbles in my tap water?
It doesn’t happen all of the time. But there are days that I can not tell when the dishes are completely rinsed because they remain covered in bubbles. If I put dry hands under the faucet they come away covered in bubbles. We are on city water and again it doesn’t happen every day but is annoying as heck when ti does.
It has happened in both the kitchen and the bathroom sinks. It’s not the soap.
It’s just air. Have you tried bleeding the pipes?
Another idea. Is your water extremely soft?
Discover the Fun and Magic of Bubbles
Some of the most fun to be had is with bubbles! So many ordinary, everyday implements can be used to make bubbles! From string, to branches, to cookie sheets – even Your Own two hands, you can make bubbles that would make anyone sit up and take notice.
A bubble is simply a stretchy skin enclosing air, like a balloon. If you were to blow up a balloon and let it go, the skin would shrink as the air goes whooshing out and the empty balloon would fall to the floor. But, if you were start to blow a bubble with a circular wand (such as found in many store-bought bubble solutions), then stop, the bubble shrinks down to a flat circle to fit the wand. Bubbles have no color of their own – in a way, they resemble rainbows or oil puddles. They take their color from their surroundings. You can actually make a bubble around yourself using a hula hoop, a few dozen containers of bubble mix, and a small Swimming Pool.
Bubble solutions are widely available, but many people find that the bubble solution unsatisfactory. If you’re not happy with the premade solution, you might want to look into making your own bubble solution. It’s easy and a lot cheaper than purchasing the bubble stuff at the store. Start with dishwashing liquid, like Joy or Dawn, and add distilled water and white Karo syrup. You may need to mix and experiment with different liquids and different measurements of ingredients to find your perfect bubble solution. Tap water can be used in place of distilled, but only if your water is soft. If you have hard water, your bubbles will sink and won’t be half as enjoyable.
Once you’ve gotten your perfect bubble solution – your bubble “wand” is only limited to your imagination. From the simple bubble wands that come in premade solutions, to wire hangers molded to shape – the possibilities are endless! There are custom-made bubble wands that can be purchased. There are even machines called “bubble mills” that produce a continuous flow of bubble for over an hour with just one filling.
The things you can do with bubbles are incredible! You’ll never believe just how much fun you can have, so cheaply! And it’s a perfect icebreaker for families that have just moved into a new neighborhood- you’ll be an instant hit!
