Bounce House Outdoor

What to do if a garden party is rained out?

I have my daughters Birthday Party at home this Sat I was planning a barbecue outdoors with a Bounce House, slide-N-Slide, water games, that sort of thing. Go figure, just listen to the booking and are waiting for rain. I have nothing to do inside my house! What I can do to entertain people on the inside if we get rained out? The guest of honor is two, but there will be invited to Chidren ages between the elderly and the part that is supposed to be for 3 hours. Any ideas or help is appreciated, thanks!

Children tend to be easily amused, especially the very young. Do the barbecue in the oven, set the table pretty, and provide children with many nice toys and movies to see. Adults, however, are more easily bored, so I would suggest games like charades, Trivial Pursuit, etc. I have always remembered my eighth birthday (my birthday is in December). The weather was miserable. But I remember opening my gifts and my uncles sat on the floor and played with my Uncle Piggly Wiggly (board game). Most adults sat in the kitchen, Yakko, and drank coffee and ate cake. But I do remember them playing that game with me.

How To Open A Bounce House Business – The Inventory

How to select your Inventory

The Bounce House Business is the world’s greatest business next to theme parks. I challenge you to name another business that will provide you pure profits every weekend while simultaneously exciting kids into a jumping frenzy.

And yes, there are some downsides to the business like inventory management, inclement weather, and employee retention, but all of these factors are common with any outdoor events business. Where the Bounce House industry separates itself from any other business is the high demand for the product.

There was a time when a Bounce House was an optional part of the party, but that was 15 years ago. Over time the Bounce House has become the star of the show and a great way for parents to provide real entertainment other than pin the tale on the donkey. The greatest advantage of the Bounce House remains the fact that it is an Inflatable Play structure, which provides entertainment as long as it’s inflated.

The appearance of the Bounce House adds a more festive environment to the event, and keeps the party from becoming boring for the attendees. This is the main reason that when customers call our rental department we spend less time selling and more time recording reservations, because the Bounce House sells itself.

When I first started in the business 15 years ago trying to find a vendor to sell you a Bounce House was a daunting task, and the price was sky high. Today if you simply type in Bounce House you will find dozens of companies willing to help you get started. For the sake of this article I cannot endorse one particular manufacture, but I can give you a few key points to study in your search for the perfect inventory for your business.

  • 1. Invest in Wow Units – A Wow Unit is a unit that once it is inflated the kids stand there for a second starring at it before they jump in. You have to realize that there are other more established rental operations in your area which means that there has to be something different about your Bounce House business if your going to compete. That difference has to be your inventory, and special promotions. Your units need to posses the sort of uniqueness that will cause an attending parent to ask the host, where did you get that castle?

  • 2. Where is Pokemon? – Stay away from theme units as much as you can. I once sunk a ton of money in Purple Barney units only to have Elmo come along and put Barney out of business completely. Stick to units that will work for boy or girl parties, the goal is to make sure you never miss a rental. Even if your competitor has the latest craze, I promise you he only has a few of those units and will very quickly book up. The key is to not get into a pattern where your changing your units every 18 months because the theme is no longer popular.

  • 3. Conduct a Search – We are all familiar with the traditional Bounce House styles but if you conduct a little more research you will find many different types of units. Try to develop Your Own signature style of inventory, filled with units that will become your signature. The first mistake new party rental owners make is running out and buying the same old same old, and then wondering why their market impact is minimal. You can create excitement over your equipment buy investing and developing units no one else has in your market.

The Bounce House Business is a business of inventory, and as a result you are what you inflate. If you inflate plain old traditional castles then you are a plain old traditional rental operation. You have to give your potential customers a reason to rent your castles. There has to be something exceptional about you and your rental operation. Show me any successful business and I will show a company that is driven by uniqueness and creativity. Your challenge is summed up this way; you must offer unique castles while creating a rental operation that attracts, and draws customers the moment they see your castles.
