Air Force
If I join the air force what are the chances of getting stationed somewhere I want?

I am debating whether to go Air Force naval. I have 21 years with a daughter and a husband to support. Need some impressive advise as to what would be the smarter choice. My hope is that my husband and I both can get an education, while I'm in the air force or naval and we can leave our small town in New Mexico. Can someone please shed some light on the reality of my dream. Thanks consultants!

It really depends on what the AFSC. If your work is something that is common to many bases, then you have more bases to choose from, if you work in B-52's that will be parked far from something interesting. If you join to be a team leader of warplanes (Maintenance tactical aircraft) there are several different airframes that can work. Some cells such as the F-16 has a good few operating bases. Others just have airframe few, F-15 comes to mind. Just before sending to the technical school that tells the cell that will be training at that point that will a list of "dream." It is almost a list of what bases you would like to go further. In preparation for the mission who will review your resume sleep see if there are any openings in your position, range and level of technology in any of these bases. If you have a good chance to go, if not, to go where AF needs you. They really try to get where you want to go, but if it fails, does not work. My wife was listed as a team leader and earned the fuselage was expecting (which fail to choose), then got the first job (abroad) he wanted. Sometimes it works that way, I've talked to others who do not workout that well. The AF has very nice bases. People who say the AF bases are not good have not spent much time some of the bases of other services. Wherever you go, be a good base, you can not be the largest base of the world, but be nice. If you are the type of person who does most of all, and enjoy where you are, no matter where you are, you 'll love. There are opportunities for fun at any place intended to get (just have to be creative in some places). If you are the type of person who never happy with things, you miserable, even in some of the most desired AF bases. I talked with airmen who hated Europe. Never left the base and just stayed at home being impossible to 3 years. It is possible that some out wayyyyyy base stationed in the ass in the world, but something about him as a good opportunity to go on a walk, ride dirt biking, camping, etc. The FA has so many services available in the only way to be unhappy is if you do not like. Dream big, and if this fails there is another way. The other way to get your assignment dream is to tour a year a challenge to Korea. You will not be able to have your Familly with you, but after that year obtained select from the bases (provided there is a need, and there is almost always). Yes, you go to the top of the list. If you go Navy may have a completely different world of pain comes to you. 6 months floating on a regular basis. The fattest, laziest, worst sailors trying to get his pants all the time. Go AF, which is the year Familly FA right now and there are all sorts of programs to try to make more Familly AF environment.
